great sage pot pie, tiramisu, linkssssss

My mother stayed at our house as our pet nanny while we were on our honeymoon. My dad came to pick her up and they left yesterday so now the 3 week wedding extravaganza is over and we have to stop eating a bunch of sugary sugars. For the last hurrah we had lunch at Great Sage in Maryland.

We both had the pot pie, which was mashed potatoes, with vegetables and peppery gravy on top, and then a flakey flax dough lid.

Tiramisu for dessert!

INTERESTING LINKS FROM AROUND THE WORLD WIDE WEB:
The Splendid Table is kind of annoying to listen to but vegan section of the recipe collection has some delightfully autumnal sounding recipes. Although some are miscategorized and contain bacon or whatever. But plus there are veganizable things in the other sections.
Such as:
Turnips in Coconut and Mustard Seed Curry
Smokey and Spiced Dutch Split Pea Soup minus the hamhock
Turkish braised eggplants
Giuseppe Lamma’s Bolognese Hot Chocolate, Circa 1660
Depths-of-Fall Butternut Squash Pie, debuttered
Pot-Crushed Sicilian-Style Potatoes, desalamied
Coriander-Orange-Scented Red Lentil Soup
Blue Corn Crusted Tempeh with Shiitake Mushroom Gravy – part of a whole vegan holiday menu

I am definitely going to make some of these. In fact I already bought a big bag of turnips.

Where Am I?
